Why a Bottle Bill?
10 Things YOU can do to support Beverage Container Recycling:
1) Take advantage of the current recycling programs in your area.
Many communities offer curbside recycling or have options at regional facilities. Check it out!
2) Sign up for our monthly
newsletters and periodic updates. (Click "Get Involved" above right.)
3) Invite your friends and relatives to begin recycling
their beverage containers.
4) Contact your kids schools and encourage them to consider the fundraising possibilities of a good recycling
program at school.
5) Reduce your use of bottled water. Try using a refillable container and chilling your tap water in the fridge.
You can safe big dollars!
6) Send a letter (or email) to your County Commissioners/Judges advising them that you support a container
deposit recycling system.
7) Reach out to your favorite bottler (soft drink, beer, water, energy drink, etc.) and ask them to support
a recycling program that includes refundable deposits.
8) Encourage your company to offer recycling options at work.
9) Remind
your children to be sure to use recycle bins for their drink containers when at parks, stadiums, festivals, etc. Too
often recyclables are accidently thrown in the thrash bin.
10) Contact your state and local officials to encourage them to support
our campaign.
